Add a yellow centre right at the edge of the leaf.

Build up additional petals either side of the leaf to bulk out the blossom.

Here I’ve added another leaf, slightly lower down, to finish the blossom. This is a classic example of using nature as a guide but not replicating it. I don’t know about you guys, but to me it’s kind of a weird-ass-looking blossom—but once you get more blossoms and buds and petals on the cake it just seems to work. I encourage you to just get it on there, then step back and take in the cake as a whole rather than looking at the individual blossoms.
